OUR CURRICULUM

Our curriculum is fully aligned with the New York State’s Pre-kindergarten Foundation of the Common Core. Instruction is thematic, content-rich, child-centered and developmentally appropriate. Our lessons are geared towards a community of learners with diverse backgrounds and skill level.

Our center time is designed to create interactive learning experiences through social interaction and self-regulation. It also allows children the opportunity to try new things in a safe and structured environment. We mirrored our center time with Creative Curriculum’s interest areas that includes writing center, blocks, math center, discovery center, library and dramatic play center. Children are given a lot of opportunity to strengthen their skills in order to improve their reading and writing readiness for Kindergarten.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

OUR ADMINISTRATORS AND TEACHERS AT Queens Pointe Preschool ARE LICENSED/STUDY PLAN PROFESSIONALS WHO HAVE YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION.

Our goal is to provide a superior preschool environment founded in research and love for teaching. Our aim is to stimulate our little ones to develop a love for learning that promotes creativity, independence and self-discovery.

We emphasize love, patience and understanding in every aspect of our teaching.  Every minute is a teachable moment for both children and staff. Communicating with children is a skillful art. Rest assured that we model the appropriate behavior that we expect our students to learn and live by.

We approach teaching with a child-centered philosophy. Children learn best by “doing”. They are active learners who gain knowledge through hands-on activities that challenges and strengthens their body and mind. We believe that providing an intentional, research-based, and age-appropriate curriculum form the core of our educational approach. We believe that each child learns differently and we thrive to individualize instruction to meet everyone’s unique needs.

For us, working together as a team is the most important teaching strategy that influences high student achievement. We value the importance of family involvement and encourage all our families to be active participants in their children’s learning. Lastly, we have invested in well trained teachers because we believe that great teachers help create great students.
